Two Legends Are Together
Paul McCartney continues to stay Out There as the former member of The Beatles keeps adding concerts to his tour schedule. Former Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour also has a tour planned (as well as a new solo album) and earlier this week a recording of his version of The Beatles’ “Here, There And Everywhere” surfaced. For this week’s installment of Sunday Cinema we’re taking a look back at times when the two legendary British musicians shared the stage together for a number of joint live performances.
This first clip comes from a 1999 performance at The Cavern Club in Paul’s hometown of Liverpool, England. The video below features a lineup that includes McCartney, Gilmour and Ian Paice – who that year recorded Paul’s album Run, Run, Run together – performing The Beatles classic “I Saw Her Standing There.”
The group also appeared in 1999 on Later with Jools Holland performing “Brown Eyed Handsome Man” as well as a concert for PETA where they played “The Long And Winding Road”
