The Old Switcheroo!

Taking after their board at ComiCon 2013 in San Diego,CA, Metallica made a beeline for the Spreckels Theater to put on a mystery, selective show for the greater part of their fans! As the late-night show was slowing down, Metallica utilized the most recent couple of minutes of their set to mess about before their reprise music. Drummer Lars Ulrich and guitarist Kirk Hammett utilized the happy minute as an opportunity to pull the old switcheroo, and swapped their separate instruments!

Fun Facts:After recording ‘Kill ‘Em All,’ Kirk Hammett decided to hone his shredding skills by taking lessons from guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani. Also, Lars Ulrich has only been recorded playing drums for one other band. On Mercyful Fate’s 1993 album, ‘In the Shadows,’ Ulrich lent his skills to the track ‘Return of the Vampire … 1993.’

To us, Lars does not look normal with a guitar, and neither does Kirk behind a drum pack! We’re happy that they’ve both stayed with the instruments they know best. Lars endeavors to assemble a conventional riff, and Kirk just sets out the most fundamental beat ever. Neither have much to appear for far from their own typical instruments. In any case, it’s incredible to see rockstars have a ton of fun like this, cause that is what it’s about!
